In the midst of the 2011 holiday season, Raquel Martinez definitely made some noise in her Senior WKA Manufacturer’s Cup debut. After coming out of a successful Junior 2011 season as well as competing impressively in a handful of European KF2 events, and having just completed running in the ultra-competitive KF2 category just weeks before at the 2011 SKUSA Supernations—she was more than ready to make her presence known amongst WKA’s Senior alumns in Daytona.

Raquel returned to a familiar track in Italy to make her second KF2 start in Europe after moving up from KF3 in the middle of the season. The fifteen-year-old driver from California was confident she could move up in the order after successful testing.

After spending two weeks in Europe racing and testing Raquel head back state side to compete in the third round of the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup series at MRP Raceway in South Bend, IN. Raquel came into the event looking to defend her points lead in the Komet Jr. Lite category.

Fresh off her first win of the 2011 season at the second round of the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Raquel Martinez headed to the 7 Laghi International kart circuit to compete in the second round of the WSK Masters Series. Raquel was looking forward to getting back to another familiar track in Europe.
